Flash Memory Summit 2016

The IAP participated in the 2016 Flash Memory Summit August 8-11 in the Santa Clara Convention Center.

Ana Klimovic (center), a PhD student at Stanford (Prof. Christos Kozyrakis’s group) describes her research project ReFlex to Lance Evans (Cray) and Jim Pappas (Intel) in the IAP Booth. ReFlex is a software-based system for remote access to Flash that provides nearly identical performance to accessing local Flash. ReFlex achieves 850K IOPS per core, while a  conventional
Linux network storage stack achieves 75K IOPS/core.

The 2016 Summit program covered every aspect of flash and emerging non-volatile memories - client applications, storage architectures, virtualization, enterprise storage applications, embedded systems, memory controllers, and PCIe storage.

Jaeheon Jeong, Executive VP R&D, Samsung, “3D NAND is the Leadership Technology for Server Storage”
